The 10 Most Unreliable Cars On The Market Today

I can think of fewer things more exciting than getting into your brand new car.  The fresh smell of the interior.  No weird rattles or smudges.  An odometer that is close to 0 miles.  Knowing someone hasn’t taken your baby to the ragged edge.  All of us love these things about new cars but we hate when things go wrong with them…especially if they keep going wrong.  Here is a list of current models that are available to buy right now that you might want to think twice about buying.

10.  Mercedes Benz S Class
10a
The current S-Class line up from Mercedes Benz probably won’t leave you stranded on the side of the road but it does have its issues that owners are becoming frustrated with.  People are reporting failed air ride systems and windows that stop rolling up and down.  I guess if you don’t care about a smooth ride and operating windows this could be a good choice for you.

9.  Jeep Grand Cherokee
2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT with Red Vapor Package
Jeep has a long standing history and heritage of taking its owners any where they want to go.  Well they might want to fix the issues it customers are having with late model Grand Cherokees.  Owners are reporting problems with the diesel versions of this SUV.  Fuel system problems and annoying navigation system failures are among the largest complaints.

8.  Infiniti Q50
10c
The Q50 will get you from point A to point B just fine.  Just don’t set you hopes up too high that you will be able to use all of your creature comfort features inside the car.  Consumers are reporting failed power steering, infotainment systems, navigation, and controls.  Doesn’t sound like riding in luxury to me.

7.  Fiat 500L
10d
Some people are in love with new Fiat line up.  Small and eco friendly.  A good price point too.  But this little bugger has some quirks that just might make Fiat issue a recall or two.  Buyers are reporting rough shifting transmissions, radios that will not work, failed navigation and back up cameras.  I guess sometimes you do get what you pay for.

6.  Nissan Pathfinder
10e
The Pathfinder has been through several different transformations since Nissan released in 1985.  It’s had problems every step of the way too.  Current drivers are stating that failing transmissions and torque converters are leading the Pathfinders troubles.  Also there are accounts of windows not working and lift gates not closing all the way or at all.

5.  Dodge Dart 1.4T
2014 Dodge Dart GT
Sporty and economical.  The Dodge Dart is a revamp from the Old Glory days of the American Muscle car days.  The 1.4 liter turbocharged versions seem to be quite problematic.  Consumers are calling out the Dart for its horrible transmission and motor.  Stalling, failed oxygen sensors, rough shifting, and bad transmission control computers.

4.  Chevy Cruze 1.4T
10g
Ah the Chevy Cruze.  The replacement for the Cavalier.  The General Motors team seems to have dropped the ball when it came to the turbo charged model.  Owners are reporting failing and broken driveshafts.  This car doesn’t even make a lot of power.  The currently ratio is 1 in 10 Cruze Turbos will be prone to this issue.

3.  Mercedes Benz CLA-250
10h
The CLA-250 is a beautiful car.  It was produced to respond to the ever growing Lexus IS and Cadillac CTS markets.  Unfortunately the Merc is missing the mark here.  Bad radios and un-Mercedes like squeaks and rattles are really getting on customers nerves.

2.  Ford Fiesta

2011 Ford Fiesta SES 5 Door Hatchback
The Fiesta is one of Ford’s answers to the growing eco friendly car market.  Be wary of the automatic transmissions found in these little cars.  Drives report slipping gears and rough shifts.  Some are even reporting failed transmissions that leave them stranded.

1.  Jeep Cherokee
10k
Don’t confuse the Cherokee with the Grand Cherokee.  This is Jeeps small 4 cylinder vehicle.  Current owners are stating they are having problems with rough and laggy shifting transmissions, radios not working, and Bluetooth pairing.  Looks like Jeep needs to go back to the drawing board with this one.
